Friends, the holidays are upon us and it’s time to get festive! We know not everyone has a free moment to brainstorm how you’d want to bring a bit of holiday cheer to your homes. We thought you may find it helpful if we shared a few of our easiest ways to bring holiday fun to your space!
1) Toss Pillows & Throw Blankets
It goes without saying, but here we are…swap your toss pillows + throw blankets seasonally (and for holidays within the seasons). This is holiday decorating at its easiest, we’d barely consider it decorating but your sofas & sectionals will love it! If you’re not looking to go wild but want a few hints of the holidays in your space, grab a few new pillows, a new blanket, and a couple of snowmen to complete the look. Our resin snowman would look right at home on your end table (hurry, there’s only a couple left in our Albany, New York showroom)! Below our merchandising team quickly added a bit of cheer to our Whiskey River cocktail table by filling a tray with pinecones and a smidgen of color with a ribbon.
2) Holiday Décor Mixed with Everyday Decor
This is one of our favorite holiday décor tricks for dining room furniture! Get ready to jazz up your dining room tables, servers, and hutches. Don't pack away your everyday decor, we're going to combine it with a splash of holiday flair. Get your trays, vases + decorative bowls ready! We're sure you must have a slew of Christmas balls you won’t be using for your tree! Place handfuls of them in empty vases and trays to bring a simple yet elegant feel to your space.
3) DIY DÉCOR
Not only will this add a bit of holiday cheer to your home, but it creates wonderful memories with your family ending with keepsakes to hold onto forever. These homemade crafts will be quite adorable on your mantles, end tables, and bookcases. Our social team made these little gnomes, trees, and snowmen back in 2019 and they’re still hanging on strong! We scoured Pinterest to find the best of the best DIY holiday décor ideas for you! If you’re not already following us on Pinterest, now’s the time – we recently revamped it!
4) Bedspreads
Bedroom furniture is just as fun to decorate for the holidays! Bedspreads and quilts are where it’s fun to get unique! We love this mixed print bedspread spotted on our Tacoma Bed in the Clifton Park, New York showroom! It’s unique and makes a subtle addition to your space for the holidays. If you have a cabin, this bed set would perfectly complete any rustic aesthetic you have. Pro tip: find a bedspread that transitions from the holidays to the chilly winter season! Now, spy the Buffalo Plaid comforter on our Jackson Lodge Storage Bed, it's bold and suits the season.
5) Stovetop Potpourri
*Disclaimer* We do not have this available for purchase, but we did find quite a few great ideas for this on Pinterest! Bring the scents of the season right to your home, relax and put on a Hallmark movie – you’ll be left wondering if you’ve gone to the North Pole or if you’re really at home!
That’s it! Have fun adding a bit of holly jolly to your homes! Don’t forget to share photos on your social platforms, tag us, and use #myoldbrick. We’d love to swoon over your beautiful homes and holiday décor! On the market for new furniture to decorate this season?
